woman-owned Trauma therapy practice in the short north
Hi, I’m Alex…
I started Moonflower so I could provide affordable trauma-focused care to my community. I began working with clients in 2022 during my clinical training. I quickly developed a deep love and appreciation for trauma-focused care while facilitating a women’s trauma group. I saw what connection and compassion can do for the psyche… since then I have focused my career on treating and understanding the impacts of complex trauma.
In 2025 I received my masters of social work from Case Western Reserve University, focusing my training on clinical trauma treatment. I spent one year working at an agency and then quit to focus on my own trauma treatment practice.
This practice holds affordability, privacy, compassion, and community service as it’s core values. I will always work to provide affordable therapy for those going through something they did not choose.
I provide psychotherapy for those impacted by the devastation of trauma over time. This space is for those looking to understand their internal selves and the ways their lives have been impacted by their experience. We focus on remaining in the present and utilizing your existing tools to progress forward in life. The truest form of treatment for a psyche impacted by trauma is living, and I can help you feel like you are living again.
Now let me tell you what you can expect…
Our sessions will be filled with laughter, honesty, and connecting with the emotional brain. We can explore and unburden the parts of you that feel hurt, scared, or overwhelmed, and we can build skills to help you through the tough moments.
This practice offers individual therapy, group therapy, and support groups for those impacted by complex trauma.
Carrying the heavy stuff is exhausting— it’s easier when you have a system of support to lean on. You don’t have to navigate healing by yourself.

Services
My scope of practice is focused towards trauma, but it’s not my only focus! I utilize interventions that address things like depression, anxiety, shame, relationships, and queer identity.
The interventions I utilize address and treat obsessive compulsive disorder, mood disorders, relational trauma, and trauma-related disorders.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered and compassion-focused, but overall I am an eclectic therapist. I also utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
I also take a systems approach to therapy… meaning I help you build support at all levels. We utilize the resources you have and help you build stronger support networks for stability. This world is difficult to live in… so we also discuss the state of the world and how to cope while things are tough.
